“Fairy World” is the name for all compilation records of the French label Prikosnovénie. The subtitle is the understatement of what you can find on this, ‘a collection of delicate & spiritual music’. With bands as Pinknruby (with an unreleased track ‘Brocéliande’ that contains all the typical aspects of this band), Flëur (with the beautiful ‘Be My Sense’ of their last album), Collection D’Arnell Andrea (which actually doesn’t fit like their used to with their wave oriented songs), Ghost Fish (with the likes of Daemonia Nymphe and Louisa John-Krol), Love Sessions (with Francesco Banchini and Louisa John-Krol), Daemonia Nymphe, Lys (with Fransoi Caspari), Moon Far Away, Irfan (who sound less bombastic like on their last record) and Caprice (with two unreleased tracks) you can’t expect any less. The Eastern oriented Anassane and Zmiya are, together with the poppy (nice sung song of) Misstrip and the melancholic Deleyaman, the more unknown highlights of this compilation. “Fairy World II” is again a wonderful trip into a land filled with beauty and tranquil music. sampler "Fairy world vol1" presents our music and artworks through a colorful
and luxury booklet/CD (Size A5/ 20 pages of artworks). During these last
10 years, we produced 69 CD, developping a new and original conception
of music. Our teenage imagination opened its door to a larger and more
luminous sight. We define this universe as "World fairy music". Let's
trip from Japan to Australia, from Italia to Bulgaria, we present you
17 bands (11 unreleased tracks): Ashram, Caprice, Anassane, Daemonia Nymphe,
Faraway, Fleur, Jack or JIve, GOR, Love Sessions, Lys, Ringe Ringe, Phil
Von, Wolz, Prajna, Irfan, Louisa John Krol.

REVIEW : Gothic Beauty USA The French label Prikosnovénie describes itself as "the fairy label," specializing in ethereal, neo-classical and early-influenced music with magical or fantasy themes. "Fairy World no. 1," a compilation featuring 17 projects on the label, shows that Prikosnovénie is also an international meeting place for musicians from all over the globe, bringing their unique traditions and interpretations into a colorful and beguiling mix. It's a virtuoso production; when you hear cellos and flutes and bells in a track by Fleur or Caprice you know they are genuine, not effects. The gothlistener will be interested to know that "fairylike" music is not necessarily sweetness and light. "The Morning Glory" combines darkwave electronica with ethnic rhythm for a sound comparable to the Changelings; GOR and Jack or Jive combine pulsing, uncanny dark ambient vocals with a gypsy processional of guitar and drums. Ashram's mournful "I've lost myself" might have fit on a This Mortal Coil album. Phil Von and Prajna provide two exciting fusions of jungle and tribal beats and authentic ethnic vocals combined with electronics, and Louisa John-Krol shows her versatility by appearing as both a medieval chanteuse ("The Lily and the Rose") and a trance-inducer ("Kunmanngur"). The CD is packaged in a full-color booklet containing a descriptive Prikosnovénie catalogue and the jewel-toned watercolor paintings of Sabine Adélaïde. |
