| This is a new fantastic discovery. This compressor in VCA technology (like APi 2500, Vertigo VSC2) did replace advantageously my Vertigo VSC2. In term of sound, this compressor is very precise and detailled. It can act in RMS or peak mode, he's bringing forward a wonderful warm low mid bottom while the high end is very silky. So this compressor can act a little bit also like an eq. This is particularly interesting when we receive digital mix which needs to become more alive. This kind of compressor is ideal alone for acoustic or world music and it is ideal in complement to a Vari mu compressor. I love to use it with my Rockruepel compressor, it is polishing, sweetening the high-end while the Rockruepel brings the loudness. The P3S ME is very nice to use : The gain reduction meter is really cool. It's a 5dB reduction meter and the LED's are in .25dB increments. Side chain, Threshold, ratio and gain in Elma switch. The O/T button engages or disengages the Carnhill output transformers. These transformers are also a thing of beauty. When engaged you will hear a very nice vibe happening to the audio. It can be heard as a sort of subtle, elegant saturation, most notable in the low mids and low end.. A must-have for this price!!! | |
